MCC appointed MSV to carry out the redevelopment of 4 sites within the Moss Side Area in January 2023, these sites were:
- Site 1 The Reno
- Site 2 Barnhill Street
- Site 3 Land at the corner of Westwood Street & Raby Street
- Site 4 Greenheys Adult Education Centre
MSV carried out a large-scale community consultation, from March 2023 to September 2023, which included:
- Establishing a Steering Group made up of local residents, community organisations and councillors.
- Established a Moss Side Newsletter for MSV residents.
- Attended the Moss Side Residents Association monthly meeting to present our plans.
- Launched a survey to gather views in September 2023.
- Text and emailed over 1,000 MSV customers in Moss Side to gather their views.
- Delivered 4,000 leaflets in the area promoting the consultation and the survey.
- Advertised with posters in local businesses.
- Ran a radio campaign.
- Held a community engagement event on 22 July 2023, which over 70 members of the community attended.
- Attended a local Primary School to engage with the pupil ambassadors.
- Opened MSV’s hub on Great Western St for a weekly drop-in.
- Developed a landing page on the MSV website specifically for the development.
- Established a Facebook page for the development.
MSV presented updated plans at the Nov 24 steering group and we are now presenting final plans to local residents and businesses.
