Do you have a velux roof window in your home?

If so, please review the details below regarding a recent safety notice affecting Velux windows manufactured between 1997 and 2003.

The inner glass sheet of these products has been found to be at risk of spontaneous breakage causing glass to fall. This presents a risk of injury to anyone underneath or close to the window at the time of breakage. Cold temperature is a known factor in increasing the risk of breakage. To determine whether you have one of the affected panes in question, in your roof window, please follow these steps:

  1. Check pane width
  2. Rotate window
  3. Locate and note pane code

Further information can be found on Velux's website here

If you have an affected window, or are unsure, please contact MSV straight away:

  • Email: complianceteam@msvhousing.co.uk
  • Phone: 0161 232 5687

MSV will arrange an appointment to replace the glass free of charge with a new VELUX panel (laminated inner and toughened outer glass). This will be done at your convenience.

Safety Precautions: If your window is already broken, handle the glass carefully. Do not open shattered broken windows when checking the product or production code.

We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.
