Our values guide everything we do:
Making Communities Safer
This week, we're shining a spotlight on anti-social behaviour (ASB) as part of #ASB Awareness Week. By raising awareness of this issue, we aim to empower communities to take action and create safer, more peaceful neighbourhoods.
We believe that the most important place to feel safe is in your home and community. Anti-social behaviour (ASB) undermines this sense of safety and well-being, which is why it's crucial to call out and address unacceptable behaviour. Our mission is to create an environment where everyone can thrive.
Our Anti Social Behaviour Service Standard - our promise to you
At MSV we have an ASB Service Standard which outlines the steps we are taking to provide customers with a safe and comfortable living environment.
We plan to:
- Visit new tenants within six weeks of moving into their new home.
Your Neighbourhood Officer will help you settle in by providing housing and local community information and support. - Remove graffiti reported or identified within one week.
Unless being investigated by the police. We will work in partnership with the local authorities to report any graffiti. - Investigate promptly any fly-tipping on MSV-owned land.
We aim to identify the person(s) responsible and request removal.
If the rubbish is not removed, we will arrange for the removal and recharge those concerned if they are identified.
We will work in partnership with the local authorities to report any fly-tipping which is not on MSV’s land. - Acknowledge and Assess reports of anti-social behaviour within 24 hours.
- If it is serious anti-social behaviour; including violence, threats, harassment, hate behaviour, or domestic abuse.
We will speak to you as soon as possible either over the phone or arrange contact within one working day.
Report ASB and Hate Crimes with Confidence
MSV is not just your housing provider; we're also a national hate crime reporting centre. This means anyone in the community, whether a resident or not, can contact us to report ASB and hate crimes in confidence.
Our dedicated Community Safety Team is trained to support victims and take action against perpetrators. They can help you:
- Submit a police report, if desired
- Prevent further escalation
- Understand hate crimes and hate behaviour
Taking a Stand Together
By reporting ASB and hate crimes, you're not just protecting yourself, you're helping to create a safer and more inclusive community for everyone. Don't hesitate to reach out – together, we can make a difference.
