Gareth completed over 40 years within the Banking industry of which some 35 years had been within Commercial Banking. For the final five years of his career, he specialised exclusively in the Healthcare Sector covering the Relationship Management of Care Homes / Primary Care / Pharmacy/ Children's day Nursery and Veterinary sectors. (including new-build developments across each of them) Previous Bank Roles also covered Social Housing relationships, primarily in Liverpool.

In addition, Gareth has also worked within the NHS since 2006 as Audit Chair for both Warrington and Halton Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCG) until June 2022. He is Vice Chair of an NHS Digital Shared Service provider and has also been appointed as a Lay Member for Health Education England supporting their Postgraduate Medical Training and Speciality Recruitment services.

Gareth has an established background in Financial Risk Management and Governance with a wealth of experience in supporting the delivery of appropriate probity within a complex and constantly changing environment. 

My name is Ibrahim Ali Ismail but everyone calls me Ibby. I am the Development Manager at Bolton Solidarity Community Association a charity that works mainly but not exclusively with new communities including refugees and asylum seekers in Bolton. I am also a non-executive director at Mosscare St Vincent’s Housing Group and Liverpool University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust as well as holding other trustee roles both past and present. I have been passionate about public services and the positive impact it can have on individual’s lives since a very young age and am very excited to continue working with others to work towards this goal.

Finally in my spare time I love three things. Those things are sports especially Everton FC, spending time with family and friends. I also enjoy writing poetry and short stories.

Andy is a Chartered Quantity Surveyor with over 30 years of experience working in the design, construction, and maintenance sectors. He studied for his degree in Salford and spent the early part of his career working in the north Manchester area.

Andy has worked in the housing sector since 2002 and is an experienced Executive Director. He is an asset management and maintenance specialist but has held a wide portfolio responsible for; procurement, design, new build development, compliance, and acquisitions. He is also an experienced non-executive director and is currently the Chair of Honeycomb Group housing association. Andy served as an independent member of the Audit and Risk Committee for MSV before being appointed to the board.

Previously Andy has held voluntary roles in the education sector and until recently was the Chair of Governors for a primary school. Andy continues to support his local village preschool group and has been their business manager since 2014.

Tim is an experienced senior manager having held positions across the public, private and third sectors. He had extensive experience in housing and regeneration with a particular focus on development, asset management and community engagement. 

In 2019 Tim established TJE Consulting to support organisations to help them maximise their potential through strategic consultancy advice, interim management and training with specialisms in housing, social value and training and employment. He is also chair of an Education Trust, a local community charity and an independent training provider.

Previously as Director of Business Development with the skills and training arm of a housing association, Tim supported their regulated skills provision as well as managing their charitable foundation. During this period, he led the development of new apprenticeships for the housing sector. Through work with social enterprises and charities, he also has skills in social value and governance. Tim’s background is in public policy and formally quality and performance management. 

He is a passionate advocate for affordable housing, communities and social justice.

With nearly 20 years experience of championing and supporting inclusion in different sectors - Kam worked for disability and domestic abuse organisations in research, training and outreach roles, then later spent 12 years delivering and managing award-winning mentoring programmes for social housing providers nationally.

Kam has recently joined the Board of SYHA, is an Assessor for the National Centre for Diversity and is an Associate for Housing Diversity Network – which means working with a range of people and organisations. Kam enjoys working in areas where she feels she can make a difference to places of work and communities – bringing out the best in and connecting people.

As a mother of two, living in a diverse local community Kam appreciates the value of safe, secure and affordable housing and how it can impact positively communities and the health, education and life chances for individuals. Outside of work Kam has been on her local school events committee for 8 years and arranges local community events.

Nick has worked in affordable housing development for nearly 30 years. He has worked for some of the largest housing associations in the Midlands including Citizen, Midland Heart, Orbit and Waterloo. 

Nick’s experience includes large supported housing schemes and regeneration projects as well as affordable housing and market sale. He is a member of both the RICS and the CIOB. 

In his spare time, Nick’s hobbies are music and languages and he has an allotment that keeps him busy.

Michelle Hill is the Chief Executive of TLC: Talk, Listen, Change; a North West relationships charity. The organisation delivers a range of integrated support, therapies and interventions in pursuit of safe, healthy and happy relationships.

Prior to joining the organisation, Michelle spent 12 years working for Nacro, the crime reduction charity. She started there working with young people at risk of offending and finished leading an organisation-wide change programme.

Michelle is also a trustee of Standing Together against Domestic Abuse, a national charity, the BGF Foundation, a corporate grant giver, and Trustee and Treasurer at Christ Church Stockport.

Michelle holds a MBA, is a Clore Social Fellow (2017), was highly commended as Charity Director of the Year at the North West Charity Awards (2017 and 2018), won the Manchester Young Talent Awards Entrepreneur of the Year (2019), is a Social CEO (2017, 2018 and 2019) and was highly commended as Digital CEO of the Year (2019) at the Just Giving Awards.

Michelle is the Chair of the Customer and Communities Committee at MSV and is passionate about ensuring the customers are at the heart of all MSV does.

Luke is a Chartered Housing Professional with over 10 years’ experience within the sector. He is currently the Housing Management Services Manager at Riverside Housing Group, delivering a nationwide service.

Previously, Luke was a Senior Community Engagement Officer at Community Gateway Association (CGA), where his team gained national awards for tenant engagement.

Luke built his understanding of communities and the importance of housing while studying a BaHons in Criminology and Criminal Justice and a Post Graduate Certificate in Housing Studies with Distinction. Luke is also a qualified Project Manager and Workplace Coach.

Luke has a range of committee experience including, completing a 2-year Non-Executive Director Traineeship at Progress Housing Group, a graduate of HDN’s Board Excellence Programme, Trustee at Talk, Listen Change and informal roles on the Chartered Institute of Housing NW and Resident Involvement Networking Group.

Luke is a member of the Housing Diversity Network BAME Action Learning Set and uses his experiences in equality and inclusion across the sector by delivering talks across the country on driving Board Diversity. Luke has an in-depth understanding of the benefits of social housing and homelessness prevention through his lived experience and uses this to ensure customer needs are heard and acted upon at a strategic level.

Sally has over 20 years of entrepreneurial business experience developed whilst running her family hotel businesses, a ski chalet company, an international ski clothing brand, and a Victorian pier among other businesses. Now living in Manchester Sally combines diverse corporate experience and a strategic approach with her current role as a trainee therapeutic counsellor for young people.

Working with some highly vulnerable individuals allows Sally the ability to understand the needs of young people and help them develop the confidence and self-belief to achieve what they want out of life. Her empathic understanding and knowledge of the impact of mental health on individuals has become increasingly relevant during the COVID-19 pandemic.

A busy mother of two, Sally enjoys volunteering as the school PTA treasurer and is also a keen traveller, theatre lover, and experimental home cook. Despite the challenges of cerebral palsy Sally loves skiing, swimming, and walking her dog Mani.

Sue is an accomplished Finance Director with over 18 years’ experience in the social housing sector. She is a qualified Chartered Accountant with the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales.

Sue joined Halton Housing in 2006. She has previously worked as Financial Controller in recruitment and the retail sectors. Her core responsibilities in her role at Halton Housing are, finance and treasury, organisational performance, risk management, internal audit, and regulatory compliance. She is responsible for the long-term financial plan to support the organisations corporate strategies.

Sue is also the Managing Director for OSUK (a subsidiary of HH) with 400 private rented properties. She is responsible for operational performance and the acquisition and disposal of properties in the portfolio to maximise the return.

Sue is currently a Non-Executive Board Member and Vice Chair of Career Connect, a charity that helps young people and adults to achieve their potential by providing high quality, professional career, employment, and training services. Sue is passionate about helping individuals realise their potential and bridging the gap between learning and employment

Alex lives in Timperley and works as a Digital Communications Officer at charity organisation, The Belong Network, having previously worked in events and marketing for Selfridges.

She is passionate about social change, and the important role social housing can play in improving people’s lives.

In her spare time, Alex enjoys reading, listening to podcasts, going to the gym, and taking out her parents' dogs - Olive and Archie - on long walks.

She is also interested in music and is currently learning to DJ.

Susan is a tenant from the Whalley Range area of Manchester.

She has over 25 years’ experience working in social housing including Homes England, Social Enterprises, Manchester City Council in Homelessness, Estate Management and Housing Strategy. Later, Susan worked on Stock Transfers, Arms Length Management Organisations, Private Finance Initiatives, homelessness reduction and domestic violence.

She is highly experienced with the skills to shape, influence and challenge. Currently she works as a fitness instructor in the local community.

Karen is a customer from Bolton, Greater Manchester.

She has many years' experience working in social housing as a Tenancy Coach, Housing and Wellbeing Officer, Floating Support Officer and Project Support Worker.

She brings extensive knowledge from the volunteer sector, including as a befriender in drug education, probation etc. She also has strong analytical skills.

Andrea is a customer from the Waddington area of Clitheroe in the Ribble Valley.

Andrea works part-time and is a former board member for St Vincent's Housing, and a former member of MSV's tenant scrutiny panel.

Andrea has strong analytical skills and good HSE Data Protection and Compliance regulations knowledge.

She is a very proud grandparent who enjoys the outdoors in her Campervan. Andrea wants her voice to be heard in her new committee role with MSV.
